Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Bogo for using the Bogo app and bogolang.com. By using Bogo you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and plain.
Last updated 30 October 2026

1. Who we are
Bogo is provided by Shagun Chandra, an independent developer in India ("Bogo", "we", "us"). Contact: support@bogolang.com.
2. What Bogo is
Bogo is an iPhone app for learning Korean from short video clips. It shows subtitles you can tap, explains words in their sentence, and helps you practise the words you save. Features may change as we improve the app.
3. Your account
- You need to be at least 13 years old to use Bogo.
- Bogo starts with a guest account on your phone. Create an account (email, Apple or Google) to keep your words across devices.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, Settings, Delete account). Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
4. Subscription and free trial
- Using Bogo requires a subscription, monthly or yearly. There is no free plan.
- The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial if Apple says you're eligible. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and you're charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Your Apple ID is charged at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
- Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Bogo account doesn't cancel the subscription.
- Payments, prices in your currency and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms. Request refunds from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change the price, Apple tells you first, as App Store rules require.
5. Clips, subtitles and dictionary
- Clips are YouTube videos made by their creators. They play in YouTube's embedded player and stay the property of their owners. Bogo uses YouTube API Services, and by watching clips in Bogo you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- Clips can disappear if a creator removes or restricts a video, or asks us to remove it. We don't promise that any particular clip stays available.
- Subtitles, translations and explanations are made by Bogo with the help of automated tools and checked against a dictionary. They're a learning aid and can contain mistakes; please report them in the app. Don't rely on them where accuracy matters, such as legal, medical or official use.
- Dictionary data comes from 국립국어원 한국어기초사전 (KRDict) under CC BY-SA 2.0 KR.
6. Creators
If you own a video used in Bogo and want it removed, email support@bogolang.com with the video link and we'll take it down quickly.
7. Using Bogo fairly
Please don't:
- copy, scrape or download clips, subtitles, explanations or other content from Bogo;
- reverse engineer the app, get around the subscription, or access other people's data;
- overload our servers, or send spam, abuse or false reports through the app;
- use Bogo in any way that breaks the law or YouTube's terms.
We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.
8. What's yours, what's ours
Your notes and messages stay yours; you let us store and process them to run Bogo. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything. The Bogo name, the Bogo panda, the app, its design and our own subtitles, translations and explanations belong to us. You may use them for your own learning, not to republish or resell.
9. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Bogo running and accurate, but it's provided "as is". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you'll reach a particular level of Korean.
10. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Bogo in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
11. App Store terms
If you got Bogo from Apple's App Store, these points also apply:
- These terms are between you and Bogo, not Apple. Bogo, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- You may use Bogo on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bogo.
- If Bogo doesn't meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Bogo, not Apple, handles claims about the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
- You confirm you're not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow the terms of any third-party service you use with Bogo, such as YouTube.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly. This doesn't take away any right you have to go to the courts where you live.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using Bogo after that, the new terms apply.
